What's with the Flintstones furniture in the living room? I assume it's a communal pool? It looks stupid.

McMansion or not I'd stay there in a heartbeat. That pool in the back is awesome.

Yes, please. The pool and the view is amazing - is that a swim-up bar in the pool underneath the structure with the skylights?

I could live in that two story dining room. The fake balcony reminds me of the Olive Garden though.

It doesn't have much charm, but it has LOTS of potential. I think from the last pic that the pool belongs to the house.

I'll take the pool and the view. The rest is pure generic mcmansion shit.

I agree with the anti-gated community sentiment, but this place just looks too comfortable and well laid out to hate. In other words, it's a fine Spanish restaurant mansion, not Mickey D's.

I've seen a lot of 20s-era Mediterranean/Spanish styled houses here in both NorCal and SoCal. I love them. This new home has obviously borrowed elements from that era of architecture, but they're better done than usual. Maybe it's just that the McMansions here in the Bay Area suburbs are just SO mind-blowingly cheap and ugly....

A friend of mine's currently selling his late father's 1930 stucco and tile Spanish-style house. In the stairwell shot of the Panama home, if you make the stairway parquet floored and take out the left wall on the lower part of the stairwell, you basically have a very near replica of the beautiful turret stairwell in my friend's home.

Those stairs were carpeted for almost thirty years (teal shag....yeah .) When we pulled the carpet out and I saw the exquisite wood floor, edged with tiny, lovely Mexican tile which I'd somehow never quite noticed before, I just about cried.

I should post pics of that house. It's very as-is but has the most gorgeous bones. Would make a change from these glossy real-estate threads....and it'd be fun to see what you guys would want to do with it.

I love gated communities. LOL I would ditch the backsplash in the kitchen and go lighter. I agree with Bella about the fake balcony but I love all that light coming in the center of the house.
