I think it's beautiful.

On the Elbe River in Othmarschen in the Hamburg area, a two-bedroom apartment in a manor house is on the market for 795,000 euros ($1,137,566). The two-bedroom rests on the second floor of a manor house built in 1906. The manor house is on Elbchaussee, a well known, grand thoroughfare that hugs the north side of the Elbe River.

Well, the whore apples sure didn't fall far from the whore tree. Sylkyn
love the house itself, love the parquet and the tile floor in the kitchen, the mouldings, etc. but i would redecorate. it's not that it's ugly or anything, it's just not my style.

Gorgeous. The only thing I don't like is the flooring in the kitchen. Everything else is perfect, very homey.
For that price, I'd like the whole manor, please.
Holy cow, my heart melted seeing these pics. Love that the exterior reminds me of the Von Trapp family house, ehehe... but interior is actually what I have in my apt now: the crown molding, the popcorn yellow walls (in my kitchen) with the yellow curtains and the original wood panel flooring (although smaller--I have a 3.5). This is my absolute and ultimate favorite on GR.

Go Habs Go!!
I love it - especially the high ceilings.
I am surprised they divided this into two units...why not remodel this into a single family home...it's stunning, great architecture, high ceilings, beautiful moldings, amazing hardwood floors. It's a shame really they divided it. Or, wait, was it always an apartment? Looks like one large house to me that was later divided. Someone should buy both units and change it to a single family home.
^^
that's happened with a lot of large houses in europe, especially ones in and around large cities. the first time i was in berlin, i went with my mother and we stayed with a friend of hers in a house with a similar set-up. big old mansion in charlottenburg that had been divided into 2 massive flats (she was on the second floor that included a smaller third floor, and a family of 4 or 5 lived on the ground floor).
property is way more expensive in europe than in the u.s. and people live in smaller spaces in general.
