Lilja Palmadottir and her husband, Baltasar Kormakur, yearned for wide open spaces, and built this one-story, 3,165-square-foot house near the Arctic Circle. The grass-topped roof is an homage to ancient Icelandic turf houses, which were carved into hills, using the earth as the roof and walls.

i like the views but nothing else.
can't post pics because my computer's broken and i'm stupid
Gorgeous family and I'm in awe of the location. The house itself has a bit too much going on for my liking - too many different textures and competing shapes and finishes.

i want it.
i would trash the drum kit, that horrible leather club chair and the ligne roset sofas in shiny black leather - i love those things but i would get them in another colour and in suede. also not a fan of the painting in the room with the drums, or the artwork in the dining room (love the clock though).

The whole thing makes me shudder. And I personally don't think the view is that great.

On a side note, that mom and daughter are gorgeous and barely look a day apart.
^ I agree. I had to re-read to see which was which.
But the house? I hate all of it. The views are nice, but nothing else.
