Default Loft 24-7 - Sao Paulo, Brazil

IIdeally, wouldn't we all like to live in a climate where outdoor living is possible year-round? And wouldn't we love to live in a space where the divide between indoors and outdoors is non-existent? São Paulo-based Fernanda Marques achieved this idealistic balance in her Loft 24-7 residence, presented at the CasaCor exhibition in São Paulo, Brazil.

In the 250-square-meter (about 2,700 square feet) space, Marques has erased the barriers by using "outdoor" elements inside and "indoor" elements outside and creating easy visual links between the two. Limestone, rough stone, steel, glass, wood paneling and furnishings that speak to the architect's modernist style, all create a harmonious, seamless environment where you are never quite in and never quite out.

Fernanda Marques is the chief architect at Fernanda Marques Arquitetos Associados that is involved in both residential and commercial architecture, interior design, furniture design and real estate. - Tuija Seipell.

Not sure I like this, but I find the toe shoe sculptures interesting.

I love it, but would worry about rainstorms.

Very cool. But how does it all not get ruined by weather, animals/insects, etc.?

I love it. Brazil is my favourite country and I really like modernist architecture.

I think the glass creates an invisible barrier so the loft isn't completely open to the elements, it just looks that way.

I like it, but NO, I do not want to live somewhere where outdoor living is possible all year round. Maybe a moderate climate with a reasonable and fairly short winter..but year round outdoor living? NO! I need some seasonality dammit.

soj, sao paulo does have a winter. it's not tropical and hot all year round. i think this house is more sheltered than it looks and there is a lot more glass than you would think from looking at the pics. i am pretty sure the living room and bedrooms close up with sliding glass doors or something (you can tell there's something on the doorways) and the only parts that are left actually outside are the outdoor dining and seating areas.

in winter, it goes down to 6°C to 8°C (i think that's about 40-45°F). not mega cold but enough so that you don't want to live without walls either.

I'm just liking taking a second look at this place. It feels so relaxing just looking at it. This isn't normally my style at all, but I'd give anything to just collapse on that sofa and stare at the outdoors.
