    Default A Rustic Residence

Valerio Mezzanotti for The New York Times
Franck and Julie Besnardís home in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, a Paris suburb. The couple hired Barbier & Barton, a Paris-based architectural firm to renovate and expand a 19th-century stone-and-glass building, a former gardenerís residence with a second-floor greenhouse.

The Besnards, with their two sons, Jules, 7, and Arthur, 5, sitting in the living room where nature gets the spotlight. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors open onto a wrap-around wooden deck.

Love it. Has some Frank Lloyd Wright elements to it - stone, wood, glass.

I saw no rustic and nothing that appealed to me.

I absolutely love this house. It's so cozy and bright. The only thing I don't like is the glass shower in the bedroom. I like a little privacy when I wash my ass.

I like it though it reminds me of the local public library.

I like how many windows there are and how much natural light is let in, but there's nothing rustic about it. And the interior and decor just scream "trying too hard."
