The five-bedroom duplex, painted mustard yellow, is nestled among the palm and cypress trees of Ambergris Caye, Belizeís largest island, and is on the market for $999,000.

i'll take it and redecorate but the location is perfect.
those nasty tiles up on the terrace will be the first thing to go, along with the ugly bathrooms.

This is very sweet - but, why do the kitchen countertops cover half the burners?

Scary crime/drug smuggling and a house on a low narrow barrier island right by the beach in a very hurricane prone zone? I would take my 1 million elsewhere I think.

    it does look lovely though.

Lots of violence, drugs, guns. Big drug running/trafficking area. Not safe really-but this location would probably be better than most areas in Belize. Belize City is a drug, gang, and gun ridden hellhole. Such a beautiful nation with such a promising eco-tourism potential-ruined for now.

..and the hurricanes? Belize city was wiped out in 1931, and again in 1961-why they moved the capital inland to Belmopan(not really a developed large town though..only 10,000 people in it). Northern part was taken out by Janet in 1955, and then they have recently just escaped with stuff like Dean and some others down there.

A major hurricane strike to the central area of the nation would mean a complete loss of law and order, and with all the guns there....

    look it up. Scary stuff.

Don't like any of the stuff inside. It looks like cheap time share decor. Don't like what they did to those beautiful arched windows. Meh, I'll pass based on Soj's advice.
