Default Open Air in Costa Rica

Kent Gilbert for The New York Times
This two-bedroom house in Costa Rica's rainforest was built in 2004 to resemble the open-air homes popular in Indonesia. It's on the market for $925,000

I hear Mel's trying to unload his Costa Rican property......he'd better cut the price in half, at least

Love the house, but since it's in the rain forest, seems like it would always be wet, dark and chilly - or maybe they just took picks on a not very sunny day.

    Costa Rica? Chilly?

    More like damp and stifling

Sticky, sweltering sauna is what I think of when I think of rainforest areas like Costa Rica. And the critters getting in was the first thing I thought of. Have decks, windows and skylights aplenty to enjoy the natural beauty, sure. But keep the shit that's supposed to stay out of your house OUT.

    Otherwise, I really like it.

You're right, not chilly, but whenever I think of constant dampness, it gives me the chills.
