    Default Renovating a French Farmhouse

This 1750s three-bedroom French farmhouse in Bourg, about 30 minutes north of Bordeaux, was bought for $685,000 and renovated for about $100,000.

Not feeling this one. I wanted to like it - the outside is really lovely - but all the brick walls of the interior give it kind of a Tower of London feel or something. Looks like it might be difficult to heat in the winter too.

I'm just in love with the idea of living in a French farmhouse in Bourg, about 30 minutes north of Bordeaux! Lol, sounds like heaven to me.

I was along for the ride till i saw they had a fucking Noguchi coffee table. Those things are a fucking PLAGUE! They're everywhere, bought by people who think it's classy modern when it's the most common fucking table ever. UGH!

    ^^^
lol they irk me too. especially the dark wood ones.
i love the house itself but i'd change some of the interior, especially the aforementioned noguchi table, the horrible plastic dining chairs in the kitchen that look like big plastic armchairs (i hate those things and they're also very trendy and you see them everywhere), and i hate hate hate the colour washes on the walls in the last 2 bedrooms - the paint colours are bad enough but i hate that wash/treatment with a passion, in any colour.
there are also a few too many elle décor/1990s french country touches like the spirally branches in a vase in the foyer and the ugly candles and all the vile curtains.

I was expecting to be thrilled but even though I love the exteriors and especially the pool, the inside does nothing for me, it looks ... unwelcoming and cold. (and dead XD)

    My thoughts exactly.

I'd like to have my way with it too. The house itself is awesome. I abhor the kitchen/dining decor and furniture. Along with about half the decor in the whole house.
