Default A private enclave in Malibu

Built in 2009, the 7,000-square-foot home sits on about 2.6 acres. (Michael Gardner)

( Michael Gardner ) Set in a canyon, the home combines a rustic exterior evoking a barn with a more contemporary interior.

the house is fantastic. the furniture is fugly as hell. and those super photoshopped colour pics of the garden are beyond amateur. whoever retouched them should be ashamed of themselves.

I like the indoor/outdoor living room but yeah, the photoshopping is pretty bad. That fireplace!

goddamn HCR photography, isnt that fucking fad over yet

    I like it all except:

The kitchen bench.. table.. thing. Fuck you, get a real dining room.

That ugly industrial railing. Get rid of that shit. Put some glass up there. Metal rods are sooooo early 2000s.

    The furniture. Get out.

Yes! Now that just might be enough counter space for me!
I think I'd be totally happy to live in this one. Not sure about that bathroom with all the windows though.

Yes-bathrooms should not have floor to ceiling glass walls unless they are in a very hidden area!

I'm not sure about the bath tub in the middle of a room and in front of large windows what's more, but overall I love this place !!!

It's in the middle of it's own plot of land with no overlooking neighbours -you'll see if you clink the link I posted.

Nestled in the exclusive enclave of Malibu's Serra Retreat, The Serra Barn is a masterfully crafted residence tucked away on 2.6 acres of rolling lawns and majestic foothills. Unveiled in 2010, this private sanctuary, both serene and dramatic in scope and design blends in magically to the most beautiful surroundings that Malibu has to offer. Created by architect Michael Kovac, with interior designs by Vanessa Alexander the home weds a Hamptons barn with elegant modern details and expansive lofty spaces to create a seamless indoor outdoor flow while maintaining a comfortable and warm feeling throughout the interior. Soaked in natural light, The Serra Barn boasts six bedrooms, six bathrooms, maids room with its own entrance, office, theater, gym plus pool cabana with full bath plus sauna and outdoor kitchen with pizza oven. Giant pocket sliders and walls of glass bring the enchanting grounds into the residence creating a magical union of architecture and environment.
