    Default Pasadena craftsman

The 1911 Craftsman house has a wood shake exterior and a traditional front porch. It overlooks the Arroyo Seco.

The exterior looks like a prison gatehouse. Too much timber inside, especially the dining room which has clashing floor/furniture/panelling/beams.

I would be in heaven with all that counter space in the kitchen. Wow!

I like it. It is light and airy & looks very clean.

Too much timber inside?!?! A true craftsman actually would have a lot more wood inside. I love craftsman style homes, and while I'm happy to see the furniture at least fits the look, it's just not enough. The whole house is kind of 'blah' to me.

Edited to add: "Oh no! is that a replica 1950's table in the kitchen? Horrible! no wonder why it's yucky to me.

Beautiful! That kitchen is heaven, although I don't like the table. A nice distressed wood table would be a better choice.

I was just in Pasadena recently. One of the local attractions is the Gamble House, which is supposed to be a prime example of craftsmen style homes. I didn't go to it, though. Here are some photos: Interior photographs of The Gamble House, by Greene & Greene | Pasadena, California

Is this the same house? I can't tell from the photos.

I think that is a different house.

On this one, yeah the exterior front could be alot better..but I like almost all of the interior.

I generally love this kind of house. That group of them in Pasadena is a treasure.

They've managed to suck a lot of the Craftsman soul out of the place.
