great space. love the brick walls.
    horrid furniture.
the divider/wall separating the living room from the bedroom also needs to be redone. and it's a nasty colour and the closet doors are fug.

I like the furniture. I think the wood mission style dining set and coffee table are nice. And the wood desk is nice too. The only thing that looks ugly/tired to me are those couches and the rugs. Namely that shag/bear skin one in the second bedroom.

Other than the furniture, the interior is great. The exterior, not so great.

Seriously, that's a steal for $300,000 in Chicago!

i thought the price seemed really cheap too. especially for a city. i don't think you can buy a parking space in geneva for 300'000, much less an apartment.

I like it. Great spaces, good price-but depends on what part of Chicago it is in.

I love that brick wall. Wish they hadn't covered it up.

Great space, throw all the coffee shop cast off furniture out the fucking window. What a waste!

What kind of furniture would you put in it? Seriously it is a great space.

Can you post some furniture items that you think would go in there?

I think I am not that particular about furniture. I just have no idea of what you think would look good there.

I really don't mind what they have there right now, but I admit I do not have much taste in furnishings really(or clothing either)..I just know what I do not like or what I think does not 'go well' and all.

I guess this post is for anyone else too...what would you put in there/change/switch, etc.?

I think the sofas in the second pic look they belong in a Holiday Inn waiting room. The table just isn't my style. And the beds are boring.

I like varied textures in a place. This place has a lot of brick, and they could really make that stand out. As it is, the brick is sort of just 'there.' It's like they stuck the interior of a suburban home into the middle of a brick apartment and it doesn't really work.

Right! Makes me wonder if it's right next to a meat processing plant or something. I like it.

Was really curious about the building since I have friends living in chicago. WoW!

    CHICAGO

    WHAT: A two-bedroom one-and-a-half bath condo in a former printing-press building

    HOW MUCH: $304,000

    SIZE: 1,400 square feet

    PER SQUARE FOOT: $217.14

SETTING: This condo is on the ninth floor of the Franklin Building, which was built in 1916 to house the presses for the Franklin Printing Company. The presses stopped in 1983, and the building was converted into 65 condos in 1989, one of several printing-house buildings in the neighborhood that underwent residential conversions in the late 1980s. The area has been called Printers Row since the late 1800s.

Bars and restaurants along Dearborn Street are a block from this building. Also nearby are the galleries along South Michigan Avenue, and Grant Park and Millennium Park, a 24-acre area with a Frank Gehry pavilion.

INSIDE: The apartment is one long room with exposed brick walls and original hardwood floors. The master bedroom, which has a wall of closets, is separated from the main living area by a wall, and the second bedroom is off the entryway. The apartment faces east, and has city and Lake Michigan views.

OUTDOOR SPACE: None, but the building is about four blocks from Grant and Millennium Parks.

TAXES: $3,698 a year (plus $780 a month in homeowners association dues, which includes everything except electricity)
