Default Laundry to Home in Berlin

Andreas Meichsner for The New York Times
Stephan Landwehr's first floor living and dining area. Originally, this room had dirt floors and concrete platforms for washing machines. The sculpture of an almost three-foot-tall fox is by Daniel Richter.

it's an awesome building and space. i want it.
but i would throw out all the horrible playmobil sofas - too colourful and they look uncomfortable. i also dislike the bathroom (i don't like orange and i hate the tiles) and not a fan of the kitchen cabinets with the see-through coloured panes.

For some reason, I'm reminded of a preschool; and what's up with the toilet in the middle of the room:

At least if you got it on the walls/floor, no one could tell.

I think it is a cool use of a building that might have just been abandoned to rot.

It's a great space but I'd gut it and remodel it and all new furniture.
