Blah. The only thing I like is the flat screen TV on the wall.

minimalist does not mean lack of color.

Good luck keeping that place clean. Young family-as in kids?-can you see actual small children living there? It almost looks like you would have to wear a protective 'space suit' or hazmat suit just to fit into it, it looks so STERILE.

Are you sure that is not a break room and waiting room for the CDC, biohazard level four?

I like the space, but as everyone has commented, the complete lack of color is horrifying.

Not even so much lack of color (and yeah, where'd it go??), but like Soj said, it's one of those places where it looks like someone follows you around with furniture polish, a Dustbuster or window cleaner to make sure you don't dirty up the place.

Oddly, I really liked it. I think this is because in my normal environment I use a lot of color and texture, and I'm also a kind of slobby clutterbug who is always shoving stuff out of the way and is perennially defeated by organizational handicaps. So I tend to crave simple, open, bare spaces. (Even though I might not like actually living in them.)

I found this apartment extremely soothing and restful. I liked the yellow touches, even though yellow is one of my least favorite colors; but it was so cheering in context here. The only things I didn't like were the ugly chair by the staircase (which really needs another railing) and the kitchen eating area, which is too echoey and cold, plus I loathe those bent wood side chairs--they're just plain creepy. The art in the dining room and especially the living room was execrable, like bad airport decor. I also would've chosen a different accent color for the kitchen--probably dark red.

Loved the bedroom though. So peaceful, it would be very easy to go to sleep there. Sort of the perfect insomniac's bedroom, very comforting and kind of tranquilizing.

A 3 year old and a box of crayons could perk up that place in 5 minutes!

I know, when I saw the glassed in stairs I thought of sticky fingerprints everywhere. I have a stainless kitchen table that my son eats breakfast at every morning, place mat and all there is still going to be handprints and shit everywhere by the time he is done.
