    Default Angles of repose

“It’s modern but with a substantial quality; it’s not slick,” architect Alexander Gorlin says of a beach house he designed in the Hamptons. “It needed a presence to it that would stand up to the ocean.” In the entrance façade, Afromosia wood volumes “pop” out of two-inch-thick Bulgarian limestone. “The size and thickness of the limestone is surprising for a residential project. It’s built like a small museum.”

wow. gorgeous house. i love the outside, and i love the limestone and wood. the furniture isn't really my style but it's not ugly by any means.

Wow I actually like it. I love all the wood and the space feels sleek but still warm, like a home where people actually live. Which is my main problem with modern design, it usually looks cold and clinical, like all hard angles and lines to me. This doesn't.
