    Default A green stone home

John Masters with his dog, Maya, at his historic home on the Wallkill in Rosendale, N.Y., which he is adapting with environmental friendliness in mind. "I wanted to show that you can take one of the oldest existing homes in the country and make it green," Mr. Masters said.

i love the attic bedroom with the bed on the floor.
the rest of the house is not my style at all. it's a nice house though.

He has a very minimalist approach. It's a gorgeous old home, but it looks too empty inside.

i like the minimalism. that's why i like the house even though there are a lot of pieces that are not my style at all, like the leather armchair, stained glass lamp and the chandelier over the dining room table.

What else is making it so "green"? So far, all I've seen is he maintains a compost in his yard and is thinking of switching to geothermal heat or solar panels.
