    Default A Barbara Barry renovation

Designer Barbara Barry took this Los Angeles home down to the framing, then rebuilt it as an urbane yet comfortable cross between “Father Knows Best” and the new modern mix.

VERY nice. Very homey. I think my favorite part is the beautiful shape of the tree in the yard.

Could you be any more beige? Holy fucking boring.

I'll take the bookshelf, and the dining room lamp. The rest can burn in hell.

Ahhhhh, I like the beige. It's a calm color. I'd probably add much more punches of color against the beige though.

I agree with about the beige but even if you changed the fabric and the paint color you'd still have a really well designed space - no?

The designer can't take any credit for that part, which is the best part. She has some good ideas but the overall execution is either overdone or underdone, doesn't quite hit the mark for me.

It seems too... plastic and showroomy. "see how perfect i can make this look?"

no personality, no real style. It's like a beige version of those super modernist houses you would feel uncomfortable touching anything in.

Same idea. Bland through and through.

Very beige, very bland. Very non-descript. You can't even really tell
what time period it mostly represents. I'd rather have all white than
    all beige.

Could they possibly have any more wood in the kitchen? I have never been a fan on integrated fridges, or wood floors in kitchens.

That is the ugliest kitchen ever.

^^ That's true. The art is amazing, even if it's not what I would personally choose.

I see how carefully composed the spaces are, but I don't like it. It bores me to tears. It also gives me a "look but don't touch" vibe. Everything is just so. I think it's hilarious how to make it seem more lived-in, a pair of shoes is on the floor by the bathtub, and a few dining chairs are slightly skewed. Try harder! How about some real clutter somewhere? No? I didn't think so. This is Anal House.
