the before bathroom had a chance if they'd have just taken care of it.

I agree with MsDeb. I think I like the before better. They just needed to decorate it better and maybe freshen up the paint.

Is it even the same bathroom? The window is bigger & different....

Having said that I like the new shower enclosure, and agree with MsDeb that the original would have faired better if it had been redecorated after the last renovation....

I liked the first one better. Just needed some sprucing up, maybe replacing some fixtures but I prefer the style over the after version.

Oh man, now I'm really offended, I just noticed this is in a Victorian mansion in San Fran. That's just wrong, I hate when modern shit is put into an older Victorian. It clashes with the overall style of the house. If you want modern style, why buy a Victorian?

I love the after but agree with Msdeb. The before wasn't that bad. The before shot just needed some sprucing up.

Isn't it just! I've saved the pic to show the Mr!

In our new place we have a main bathroom & an ensuite. I plan to have the main bathroom like the older pic - a tall victorian style toliet, an old style bath (not sure about the "freestanding" type - very impractical....) etc, etc and then have our ensuite quite modern & minimalistic fittings.

Who the hell has a cuckoo clock in the bathroom? The dampness would destroy it in no time.

I have to agree. Regardless of the style of the house, ppl need to take that into consideration when buying a house or remodeling. You have to work with the style of the house. Otherwise, the house looks like it has an identity crisis.
