A Dramatic Dwelling Adapts to Its Coastal Setting

“Our efforts were focused on integrating the house with its dramatic natural setting,” says Camilo Rosales, who, with architect Albert Knoepffler, designed a beach house on a wooded peninsula in Costa Rica. Teak overhangs in the living/dining pavilion offer shade, but “whenever possible, the house is open for cross ventilation.”

The scenery is not to my liking, the house is another cold timber hulk - looks like the lobby of a hotel, I just don't like it.

What's up with the painting of a half naked toddler in a kiddie pool? I like the windows and the pool. (The pool outside, not the pool with the naked toddle in it.)

i like the painting. the contrast between the grey & soft, almost dull yellow intrigues me.

i really like that painting too.

i love the house itself. don't like the furniture but i would happily move in and redecorate. i'll keep the painting though.

Some great ideas but the terasse/staircase pic makes it look too gigantic, while the bedroom pic makes it look like a student dorm room..doesn't compute

It looks nice enough, not sure I'd want to live there. Not cosy enough.
