    Irelandís LID Architecture have designed the Landscape Room, a contemporary addition to an existing limestone cottage in rural County Sligo.

    that entire front sitting space is wasted on ugly, uncomfortable 70's benches and nothing else in the room.

    i love the house! i love how the new addition and old house look together, despite being completely different styles. i love the stone they used, the openness, etc...
    but i agree, that front room is wasted with that horrible orange bus terminal bench looking sofa. i'll take it and replace it with a nicer sofa. i actually even like that it's a built-in, but i'd do it properly and make it a bit deeper and get much better cushions and make it a nicer colour. add a few small coffee tablees here and there, etc...

    It's called a veradah where I come from. Perhaps it's unusual in Ireland where the weather isn't very reliable but these "outdoor rooms" are very common here.
