Default Holy home: A converted church

For as long as I can remember I've always dreamed about converting a building, such as a barn, a mechanics shop, a church, into a home. Well, some folks in the UK have done just that. They purchased a church for £92,000, spent £300,000 in renovations, and it's now worth about £650,000

I think it's gorgeous. A backyard cemetery would be a bit different, but it wouldn't put me off the place.

Not much of yard with all the tombstones around. Other than that and the bed on the altar, it's pretty nice.

The idea of living in a church creeps the fuck out of me. I don't know why, I've always found churches really creepy.

Having a cemetery in my yard just increases the creep factor. *shudders*

I just do not like it. It just looks like a church to me not a home.

I kinda like the interior and the idea, but yeah, the Jeebus factor is a little off-putting. In my home town (going back several years ago) some bright spark bought an old Carmelite Convent and converted it into a nightclub. Unfortunately, one of the conditions of sale was that the various religious statues inside had to remain in place. I hear that the Virgin Mary looked benignly down over the urinals in the gents toilets... Not surprisingly, the place didn't exactly do good business and went bust pretty quickly.
