Default Lose a wall, gain a workable space

    Before

Tobacco-brown cabinets, tight quarters, and still air made cooking in the old space a nonstarter.

    After

I how the fridge is built into the wall/combined with the bookshelves.
I like the small tile backsplash, but not combined with the larger tiles. I would have had total small glass tiles.

    That before picture is scary.

the 'before' is one of the ugliest kitchens i've ever seen.
the after is great except for the larger tiles. i would have done the whole thing with the smaller ones or chosen different large ones.

Much improved! Those tiles are the wrong color & should have been placed on the diagonal.

I'm confused by the built in bookcases next to the refrigerator... it must be some sort of illusion, but it looks like the shelves are waaay deeper than the amount of available wall. Weird. It looks lovely but wrong. Like a Jaguar up on blocks.
