The Winner of the 2007 Cooper-Hewitt Lifetime Achievement Award Anchors a House to its Site

“As a landscape abstraction, it has no expression of façade; rather, it’s a series of slope extensions,” Antoine Predock says of a Colorado house he designed.Granite berms on its east side “bookend the entrance under the titanium porte cochere,” says the architect.

This one is complicated - I love a lot of it, and the architecture is very fine, but inside, the industrial stuff (girders) take away from the design and simply confuses the eye.

Hate. The exteriors look like Dr Evil's Secret Lair.

This is the kind of thing I would usually hate, but for some reason I LOVE this!

I would liven it up a bit with more interior and exterior greenery and some interior color, etc. but I really like it. It looks very 'remote' though. But the things I could do with it! *sigh* And that patio/deck is fantastic.

I love it,but can't explain why. On paper,no. In pictures, oh yes.

i think it's gorgeous. the architecture is really stunning. my only critique is that it looks a little too massive from the outside, don't know if it's the actual size or the design that makes it look that way.
and the bathtub looks really uncomfortable. bathubs need rounded bits, you don't want to lie back on sharp angles. the shower is insane though, i've always wanted a shower that feels more like a small room than a shower.

Some parts ressemble more to a building lobby than a house
