    Default House in Scaiano

    in scaiano, switzerland.

This house for vacations is located at the border of a small historical village, which is still quite good preserved.

The house is very small and there wasn’t enough space to integrate also the bathroom in the existing volume. So it’s hidden underneath the ground to be able to leave the appearance of the house like it was before.

Nicely done. Obviously a vacation house, really small but worth it for the views alone.

love it. and the ticino is one of my favourite places in the world. i think this village is right on the border with italy, on the other side of the lake from locarno.
the architects are a markus wespi and jérôme de meuron. i wonder if jérôme is related to pierre de meuron of herzog + de meuron fame?

The pics look great but in the long run I'd trade the the carceral grey walls for the original white ones

I don't know...it reminds me of an old abandoned prison or something.

The views are to die for. The house is like a stone and concrete bunker hut type of thing.
