Default A home in Baka, Jerusalem

Andi and David Arnovitz, originally from Atlanta, were inspired by the thick stone walls and arched entries of traditional Arab homes when they built this house in the Baka section of Jerusalem.

It looks comfy and inviting. I'll gladly stay there.

you'd think that tacky afghans would get tired as a theme, in the middle east.

i like parts of it. but i'd rather live in tel aviv than jerusalem.

and while i like the room with the stairs leading to the bed, the tacky blue wall treatment has to go. i fucking hate that. the curtains also must die.

and yeah, afghan overload. a few touches here and there are nice but you don't need that many in one place.

the living room is a little cluttered and i hate that side table against the wall.

i wouldn't live there, but on the whole it looks like a pleasant place to visit.

Is the room with the sky mural for a kid? If so, I guess it gets a tacky pass.

Otherwise, I like this a lot. Especially the architecture itself, the overall organization (every room and seating area seems very functional), and the organizational solutions I can see.
