Exactly. These people who care just so damn much about the health of other people are so thinly disguised in their disgust that I'm surprised that they can't see it when its so blatantly obvious. Her posts were disgusting.
Look, for me its all about being healthy. I really can't judge fat people because I see skinny people all the time who are "skinny-fat" and they just happen to have the genes that those Twinkies they are scarfing down don't go to their hips. So who am I to say who is healthier? I have a big friend who exercises all the time and is considerably overweight, but her tests all come back excellent - plus, I've never seen her scarfing down a full cheesecake by her own. When we go out, she seems to eat the rest as us normal folk, I think she just has a slower metabolism. I don't presume to see an overweight person and just assume that they must be unhealthy, just like I don't assume a skinny person is a pinnacle of health. Plus, I really just don't care. Its your body, not mine.
And can I just add here that the BMI is a piece of crap? I have a very hourglass shape and I'm very petite - think someone like Salma Hayek. I have bounced up and down between being a size 0 and size 6. Everyone just praised me for being so "in shape" at a size 0 but I was killing myself to get there, and it was just not maintainable. I could not sustain that and be happy - how much fun is it to have to deny yourself even one M&M out of fear? Thats ridiculous. Right now I'm at a size 4 and I feel fabulous, I look great and I feel very sexy with my breasts and my butt. This is probably my ideal size, give or take a few pounds. The crazy thing is because I am so petite, the BMI says that I am slightly overweight! What the hell? I also happen to have a good amount of muscle on me because I was an athlete for years. So I also don't buy into that BMI = healthy shit - its all about loving the body you are in. And I have no doubts whatsoever that big girls can love the body they are in. And who am I to judge anyway? Have that second piece of cake, you only live once!

Exactly.
That one post just showed Tictac's true colors.
So get on with yourself to the gym Tictac, so you can feel all smug and superior over weightier people to fill that emptiness where your heart should be.

God, I'm so sick of all the fat hatred in our society - and I'm not even fat. Clearly, it's more acceptable to have a drug habit than it is to have an extra 5 lbs.

tictac, you sound JUST like me when I was in my teens, twenties, thirties and believe it or not, early forties. One day you might wake up and realize it's not as easy to drop ten (or fifteen, or twenty...or forty) pounds that all of a sudden snuck up on you.
Loving yourself has not a goddamn thing to do with it. Sometimes shit just happens and the last thing an adult wants to deal with is their damn weight...at least at the moment. I would enjoy (not being snide here, either) hearing from you in about ten or twenty years. Sure, lots of women can look great well into their fifties or sixties. But sometimes age, kids, hormones, and LIFE in general break in line.
Not everything is easy-peasy. If it was, I'd still have a 23 inch waist.
I will continue trying to lose my excess baggage, but the older I get, the harder it will be (at least for me). And I kinda like myself a lot...so, get off that cross. We need the wood.

Why yes, we do. Good riddance. And please, stop being a martyr. Its a "herd mentality" in this thread because you are incredibly wrong, and not only wrong - but rude as fuck. You are the only one in the wrong here. The way you have chosen to express yourself is shit.

Well, even with that incredibly rude original post, I had just issued an "insulting other members" infraction. I wasn't going to ban off that comment just so I could be clear that I hadn't made the decision because I took those words personally even if they weren't directed at me (given how public I have been on here about my personal weight struggles). But, since you forced my hand and delivered the first FTB post we've seen in a long time, I guess I can oblige.

No, you did the right thing NoDay, that was an obvious FTB. And I think every skinny or fat person on this thread will contend that that bitch was rude, period. Talk about treating others like shit. And it just goes to reinforce how badly overweight people can be treated in our society, which is sad.

She was rude. Ragging on overweight people doesn't make one more thin or attractive. It's arsey and sad.

It's the last group that's still socially acceptable to mock. It's fine to hate on fat people because you know the haters are doing it with good intentions. They're only concerned about the overweight person's health and well-being. Yeah right. It's simply a thinly veiled expression of hatred.

It was a pretty quick meltdown - she showed her colors pretty damn fast. I was pretty amazed at how quickly it escalated.
