I think the best thing is to educate yourself on correct lifting methods, etc., and train solo, but that's just me. I personally love to train by myself, I have no problems whatsoever motivating myself to work out at the gym or anywhere else. In fact, I prefer a gym that is little to no people, I can't stand packed gyms. Also, when I work out most of the time I don't even have a set lift routine. I pick a bodypart and do what I feel like, depending on what machine/weights are available, and go from there until I am pumped or tired.

The trainer is an idiot.......lose the trainer before they hurt your health

According to this guide, for my weight and activity level, I need a minimum of 3750 calories per day just to maintain my weight . That doesn't sound right considering my short height.

Wow, I've probably been averaging at least 1500-1700 calories below that the past month! My energy levels are good though, but I do mix it up, some days more calories, other days less. But the bottom line is since I'm trying to lose weight I have to take in less calories, most definitely below that maintenance level.

^^ for me it works fine.....

The American Cancer Society is reputable and pretty medically sound, but here's the Mayo Clinic's which gives me more or less the same info as the ACS (within 100 calories per day)

Tool: Calorie calculator - MayoClinic.com

This one's a little more 'accurate' I think as it is a bit more specific. This one based on my body type and age and activity tells me I need 2800 calories a day. That sounds about right, so I'm doing alright being below that to lose weight.

So she got back for the honeymoon and I asked her about it and she was shocked LOL. She said that I need to eat about 1300-1400 cals a day when working out. I just didn't hear her well at the first time... LOL, I feel like an idiot .
