Re: New Years
I've been going to the gym again and have started doing about 200 crunches a day because my New year Resolution was to get a flat tummy.

Re: New Years
I've started running again, just a little at a time. I've never been a great jogger and always got my cardio in otherways but I'm detirmind to become a runner.

Re: New Years
I recently got back into tennis after not playing it since high school. I SUCK! My serve is embarassing. The park near me offers cheap lessons so that is my new weekend AM routine.

I'm curious as to why anyone would want to become a runner. Every long-term runner I know is haggard-looking -- their faces are far older than their bodies due to the lean, stringy thing that happens when you run a lot -- and most have shin splints, tendonitis and all kinds of running-related injuries.
I'm all for being fit, but obsessive running is completely unappealing to me and it seems that most people do get addicted to it. I walk, a lot, and I often pass joggers because I am a very fast walker. I am fit, but not obsessively so, and I don't have the injuries nearly all my runner friends have.

I didnt really explain myself well. I'm also a fast walker (in high school I did the walking events in athletics), I just want to add running into it. I dont think I could run every day and 2.4km's is about my limit distance wise. I'm just getting bored of the stationary bike we have at home. Its building up my thighs too much and I dont want to be bulky. For my cardio I usually do a boxing session, or do martial arts speed drills (with skipping cardio blasts inbetween). But if I'm going to cut out the bike then I have to get something else to get my endurance up.
Though if anyone has any other cardio activities that build up endurance that I can try out that wont bulk me up at the same time the way cycling does then I'm all ears.
