Headaches
How often do you get headaches?
And what is your choice of alleviation?
Been getting headaches often lately.

I get headaches when I am stressed or dehydrated. I usually drink lots of water and take 3 or 4 Ibuprofen.
But, if you have a concern about your headaches, you should talk to your PCP.

What's your diet like?
I get migraines - have most of my life, although radical changes in my diet will bring on headaches in addition.
Typically if you lower your carb intake or sugars you will experience headaches.

You aren't maybe going to like this.....but I used to get headaches all the time. I quit smoking 12 months ago and I have only had about 3 headaches all year......nicotine restricts the blood vessels.....
Try the nicotine patches.....you are probably getting headaches from cutting down on your smoking......for me, the patches were easier to wean off of than the cigs.....

Sorry about your headaches...they suck. I'm another one that gets migraines. I get one a week. I probably had them my whole life, but about 3 years ago it got to a point where they were lasting for 48 hours. Now, I take Zomig or Frova for mine and they're gone in an hour or two.
Suede, I'm the same with radical changes in my diet too. It will trigger a headache. Also, too much or too little sleep.

yea I cut down on my smoking, I'm trying to quit now so I cut down to about half. I've just finished my pack so I'm gonna go cold turkey.
I haven't had anything sugary lately, no chocolate And I haven't eaten any fruit except for bananas (as mentioned in another thread). My diet isn't all that good. I don't eat much, I'm really bad at eating 3 proper meals, I usually only eat once a day with some snacks thru out the day but very minimal. But I'm not losing weight or anything... I try to eat lots of veggies so my meal always includes a salad.
I've also started drinking more water now though (when Vancouver had the water problem, we bought like 3 cases of bottled water).

I use to get them 3 weeks straight every month. I had to inject Imitrex and sometimes it just didn't work. I have been told Motrin is the best. I can't take it, it kills my stomach. I have to rely on extra strength tylenol. Sometimes a warm/hot bath helps. Wash your head. Massage it rather. It sucks. I feel for you. I stopped getting them as bad after I had my last baby. I still get them with allergies. Ugh. Sinus headaches. And PMS of course.
If you can go to a doc, go. They got way better meds now for headaches.

Mine are almost daily, and they're strong. Nasal septum deviation combined with rhinitis sucks. The only thing that works for me is a mixture of sodium dypirone (600 mg), orphenadrine citrate (70 mg), and caffeine (100 mg). I do, however, tend to only medicate myself when the pain is so bad it affects my eyesight.

Been getting major headaches myself during this pregnancy. They can be debilitating. I take Tylenol, whether I am pregnant or not. Seems to work the best for me.
Maybe keep a log of when/where the headaches come about moomies. If you see a trend, then bring it up to your PCP....

I totally need to go see a Chinese herbalist and a accupuncturist! I keep meaning to but haven't got around to it. I also need some lady problems fixed...
Well, I have some anxiety issues and I kinda freak out with certain meds so I'm a bit hesitant at the moment but Chinese medicine usually don't have side effects (so they said, I went to one before here in Van). I'll go back to that one, they also do massages and accupuncture there.

Zomig is the only medication that works for my migraines. I also get the kind that dissolves in your mouth, given that my migraines have caused me to vomit before. Zomig is expensive, but WELL worth the money.

I might actually have a cold...been getting a bad headache for the last several days. Bought Advil cold and sinus today and have just taken 2 tablets. But I'll see if it goes away/gets better.

What helps me sometimes, is getting into a very hot shower, and turning away from the shower head, and letting the hot water go onto the lower and middle back of my head. Very hot helps unclog sinuses if you let if flow for awhile.
Hope this helps...
