Holiday weight gain
holiday pounds lol
this is the month/season when people (esp. women) gain the most weight, more than at any other time of year. makes sense w/ all the cakes, cookies, pies, dinners that happen.
i am resisting it so far, i refuse to succumb hahaha
anyone else struggling with this?
i'm on a major diet..my family cooks a lot of desserts and stuff in december..i am trying so hard not to mess up this year

I hear ya! I lost about 10 pounds over the last few months and will be so bummed if I put it back on. Cookies are my downfall but since I don't really cook I should be okay. I eat alot of protein bars and that seems to satisfy me.

^^hey. Well, just indulge at the parties, and on the days when you don't party, eat as you normally would on your LIFESTYLE CHANGE. I hate the word DIET! Anywayz, enjoy, then return to workout plus food plan as usual. no guilt. its life, shit happens. dont dwell (as u can tell, i have experience!)

I'd say, let yourself go during the christmas and then go back to a normal eating pattern. Eat alot of fruits, get a regular eating style and exercise, since exercise actually decreases appetite. Just doing those simple things should help you avoid eating sugary snacks.

Well, I have an easy way to keep off the holiday pounds. Try getting a horrible virus like I did. It spread like wildfire through my whole family. Got sick Christmas morning, puked my guts out (plus coming out the other end!) lol. Missed Christmas dinner (boo hoo). Haven't eaten since then, but am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think I'm ready to start eating toast or something. I haven't stepped on the scale, but judging by the mirror, I'd say I've lost about 10 lbs. There has to be an easier way than this to do it!!

Yea I gained bout 5 pounds so far, I'm on vacation now so it's kinda tough.
Once you get into that 'rut' of eating out, fast food, etc., it's easy to stay on that routine cuz it's convenient (no washing dishes, cooking, etc.).

I'm necroing this thread instead of starting a new one on the exact same topic.
I can already feel my pants getting a little snug from all the food trapsing in my office. Someone showed up with some white chocolate concoction this morning and I'm fighting to not hoover the whole fucking thing. Someone else showed up with a homemade sour cream pound cake. I have a Christmas party tonight, plus about 5 more in the next few weeks. I'm nervous I'm going to pork on about 15 pounds by January.

Mmm white chocolate!
I love this time of the year. Now I am craving chocolate walnut fudge.
FUCK. Why did I come in this thread???
January is always the busiest month at my gym with so many noobs. You'll be lucky if you can find an open treadmill or elliptical machine. And then Feb comes and it's back to normal. Makes me laugh every year.

I eat like crap all year round. Seriously, there is always something sweet at my house to nibble on. I can't say that there is any more temptation during the holiday season.
