Hot flashes before period?

I'm 36 yrs old and I know I'm not pre-menopausal...for the past 2 months I've had hot flashes a week or so before my period. Is this normal?

Also, 2nd question...I've never been regular, my periods have always been pretty erratic. I get my period every month but it's never on time, usually late...a few days late to a week or two late. This month for the first time ever in my life, I got it 5 days early! That blew my mind. I got my first period at age 11 and I've never gotten it early---that's wierd! Has that ever happened to you? Getting it early I mean.

I always have really bad hot flashes before and during my period. It sucks so bad! I'm only 21 so I know it's not just a pre-menopausal thing. My periods are pretty regular but every once in a while I will get it maybe a couple days early or a couple days late. Seems normal to me.

I'm 29 and have hot flashes pefore and during my period, but not every time. I'm taking the pill, I was very irregular before I did, it could vary between 20 and 40 days

Yup I get them too, I can't sleep in the night if it's too hot and have to kick my duvet on the floor. I call them 'flushes' though.

I had that last winter for a couple of months

Spent one night after the other sweating, and it wasn't because it was too warm in the room. Ugh!

I am the same age and had the same symptoms. Are you on any birth control? That solved the problem for me. I still have hot flashes, but my periods are more regular now.

OMG. 35 here and I get so fucking hot that it wakes me up in the middle of the night. ONLY during my periods. It started when I was pregnant, around the 5th month and when I got my first period after the baby, it came back. It really sucks and if this is a taste of menopause, I am going to get everything outta there.

Do you get PMS and migraines as well?

I've noticed the past 2 or 3 months my PMS has been really bad...I get into really bad depressions for a week or so and that's so unlike me. I've never been that way. I get really irritable and today I woke up with a migraine. I started yesterday. I don't know if I should even go to the doctor or if it's just considered 'normal'. I hate going to doctors and they never tell you anything---just what you already know. Oh, it's hormonal, go home and rest. It can be really debilitating.

Me too on the hot flashes. I just had one this morning. And ditto on the menstrual cycle. I was so regular before my first child, I knew I was pregnant when I didn't get my period by lunch the day it was due. Now, I sometimes only go 21 days between periods. I'm 37. And yeah, the hot flashes suck. It feels like I have a fever.

Do you think it's perimenopause?

Honestly no...it could be stress...excercise...weight changes...I have been under a lot of stress lately and work sucks...they moved my depts and I've been unhappy about that. I've set up an OBGYN appt...I want to get my hormone levels checked anyway.
