Default Curves

Has anyone ever tried Curves as a health club? They have the best rate for just the summer (since I get a free health club membership when I am in school at my main campus), and I was wondering if it is worth it or if I should shell out the extra 50 bucks to join a traditional health club.

I know several women that have belonged to Curves. They all seemed to really like it. I think the whole 'its only for women' thing can be a real plus.

I think Curves is a good program if you are just getting back into exercising or are exercise averse. It's a quick workout and the women-only focus is definitely a plus for some. But make sure you check out the controversy behind the franchise just so you are fully informed before joining.

I just got back. I did sign up. I went and they did my measurements and then taught me how to use their machines and let me work out with one of their trainers shadowing me (to make sure I was doing the machines right) to see if I liked it. I thought it was great, my heart rate was going, I didn't get bored, I liked the music (big thing for me), and I liked the environment that I witnessed. The women were all friendly with each other and it seemed to be all ages in the group as well as all sizes. It only cost me $129 for the whole summer with no membership activation (yay for student rates!), and I'm committing myself to at least 4-5 visits per week, if I'm feeling great I'll go all 6 days they are open.
