Colon Cleansing

has anyone done it? can you lose weight doing it? I saw Meet the Barkers the other day and Travis said a friend of his lost 45 pounds in 30 days doing colonics. I do not want something that accelerated but I do want something to guide in my weight loss .

IMO you don't lose weight by shitting more but by eating less/better.

I saw The Biggest Loser one time, and the people said that it is possible to lose weight from colon cleansing.

The question is: do you want to merely lose weight as in: I weigh so many pounds less, or do you want to lose weight while shaping and toning your body? Because emptying your insides may be a good idea once in a while, but to me it's like taking the seats out of a car but then realizing it's still too big to fit in the parking slot

I read somewhere that if we ate properly we should move our bowels 3 times a day! I'll google a link befoe I post this because it just sounds extreme. I've never gone 3x in a day.

It's true. If you eat enough vegetables/drink enough water and don't eat processed foods, you will go roughly 30 min-1hr after each meal. Your skin will also look loads better because you are not keeping so many toxins in your system. If you stick only to foods in the - I think it's the "preferred" category or somethign like that - of the Zone Diet mini block guide, this will happen. Been there, done that, and looked great. If only I had kept it up...

I went to this supplement/vitamin store and talked to an advisor and got suckered into buying a few things. I got MSM, Salmon oil, Apple cider vinegar and Acidofilus (spelling?) capsuls. When I took those as recommended ( 2 pills after each meal, 1 acidofilus b4 bed) I did go to the bathroom 2 to 3 times daily but I got too lazy to take them regularly.

I had a medical colonoscopy (camera up yer bum) a few months back to check for polyps/cancer. All clear. 24 hours before the proceedure I had to drink a FOUL concoction of salty stuff, nearly 2 litres, which clensed my bowel better than you can even guess. I did not lose any weight, but I did get the reassuring news that my bowel is healthy. A colon clense will certainly make you feel better, if you can stand the indignity of someone else watching your shit slide down a tube, but it's not a weightloss stragety. There is only one way to do that - eat less, exercise more. Boring but true.

Same here! If I haven't gone for the entire day I make myself an espresso, and 5-10 minutes later I have to go!
But 3 times a day is a little extreme for me, it'll happen if I'm nervous, otherwise I'm just "satisfied" and feeling great with a good one

My husband had the camera up the bum thing a few years ago (also all clear, thank goodness), and had to keep drinking gallons of some nasty solution until his system was completely empty. He says that by the end he was practically pouring the stuff in one end as it was coming out the other, and (he swears this is true) all that was coming out by then, apart from the liquid itself, was sesame seeds.

I have heard that people can have up to 15 lbs of stool just sitting in their colong at any given time. Colon cleasing scares me, but if it didn't I would do it!

I've been having some gastrointestinal issues and I'm gonna go get this procedure in January (barium enema). I'm not sure if it'll just be an x-ray or the colonoscopy thing (camera up your bum) but yea I've been instructed to go get this solution thingy from the pharmacy 2 days prior to the procedure. I'm a bit freaked out cuz the instruction says stay close to the bathroom after drinking the solution... I don't want to be chained to the bathroom.

The salty solution is exactly that - sea salt and water. The proportion of salt to water matches the specific gravity of your blood, which causes the solution to go through your digestive tract rather than get absorbed the way normal fluids do. Therefore, you don't pee, but rather have what can be considered a "reverse enema". It's kinda like hosing out your intestines. There is a cleanse out there called the Master Cleanser, in which you drink a mixture of water, lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for several days, then use this salt solution to flush out anything that is still in your digestive tract after several days of fasting. The sesame seeds comment made me laugh, because all I saw was corn (gross!!!). Believe me, when they suggest staying close to the toilet, I suggest standing in the bathroom with elastic waistband pants and no undies!!!

Oh no...so it will give you some kind of diarrhea? Does it also give you a tummy ache? I don't want to suffer any more than I have to...
I'm also supposed to stop eating solid food 2 days b4 the enema.
