My first thought (after the initial shock) was steroids...we all know that they can cause depression and violence, but now that we have read that "first hand report from the second cousin " I don't know...

The District Attorney has said that the details "are going to prove a little bizarre". It doesn't get much more bizarre than the "first hand report".
I, too, was thinking that steroids were involved. I have also heard rumors that the wife may have, at one time, also been taking steroids...
Regardless, it's still a sad story. Whatever his mother's or father's issues were, that poor little boy didn't deserve any of this...

My God, whenever I hear about a child being harmed or killed, it makes me so angry and sad I can't see straight.
I do wonder if the theory that Chris found Nancy had killed their son is what happened--it would make sense.
What a tragedy.

I am inclined to believe that he didn't kill the son.

I have to agree it looks like he did. I loved watching him but that or being a celebrity in general has no relevance or bearing on the crimes they commit or the sympathy they deserve. I feel sad for the kid murdered by his dad.

I know the true facts have not come to light, but he seemed like one of the only people in that industry that wasn't erratic. I hope he did not kill his son. The wife, on the other hand, came across as a bit of a psycho.
If someone killed my child, that would explain why that person's body was lying around. I wouldn't commit suicide, but that person would be stone cold and rotting. I would be waiting for the handcuffs.
Being a celebrity, he probably did not want to live through the ordeal or the media circus after having his son killed by a parent and then the other parent kill the murderer.
If he did this, another case of roid rage maybe?

This all just seems so tragic. It seems like he pulled out the other night, citing "family emergency" seems to mean that he knew something was wrong with his wife and son. I am more inclined to believe the story that was put forth about his wife killing the son. How sad this all is.

I was reading this site yesterday about women that kill (for a case with work) and was this lady that killed 3 husbands, 4 lovers and they said they didn't know how many co-workers in her 70 years. Women can be sick too. Remember the woman that killed her children in the bathtub. There was that woman that stoned her son to death too.

andrea yates, susan smith, diane downs, marie hilley, darlie routier ... we have a history chock-full of violent murdering women... it's just not (and never has been) as talked about.

It is. I just can't seem to get my mind around the fact that he killed his son.

Me too! For sure, if someone killed my kid, I would do whatever I could to make that person suffer horribly before I killed them slowly. And then I'd spend the rest of my life in prison telling you I would do it again in a heartbeat. What would I have left to live for if my kid was dead? I don't want to say that I think about that scenario all the time, but when I hear of the horrible deaths that kids suffer I can't help but imagine it happening to my son and what I'd do.

I am inclined to believe the story as it has been speculated. He was on his way to Vengeance, which would have seen his popularity surge again, because he was being groomed to be a top RAW name again, having just come from one of the sister shows. When he appears at PPVs, he goes through the roof.
He was known as a family man and was a mentor to many of the younger wrestlers, along with the late Eddie Guerrero, who had turned his life around. When Edge spoke about personal issues, everyone knew that it was his cheating on his wife, the sister of his fellow Raw wrestler, with a former Diva, then being forced to live out the BS as a storyline, causing the Diva to quit. Edge has given Benoit credit for helping him through all that.
I say it is the wife. Wrestling gossipers said she was pissed she could not get on as a Diva or manager and felt he did nothing to help her. There were even rumors of separation and possible divorce. No one wanted her to work there. Apparently, she made many enemies during her time with WCW and it got her banned.
