I just watched him perform again, I cannot help it I really like him.. There was a little girl crying cause she liked him so much, and Ryan had him go out to her and he hugged her it was too sweet.

He's a cute kid and not really a bad singer......I feel sorry for him because he is being made fun of publicly and that has to not only hurt him, but his family as well. I know I wouldn't be able to handle my child being publicly humiliated that way.
Didn't the judges tell him how good he was back during the initial auditions? I seem to remember that both he and his sister were told they had great potential but then the sister didn't make it through.
Makes you wonder why they didn't send him home earlier if they think he is THAT bad.

They didn't have to let him get to the point of being voted on by the public......but they did.

I missed tonite, so not sure how he did, BUT it's not that he's horrible. It's just that he isn't talented enough to be in the finals IMO. He sings pretty well for sure, and then there's the cute factor, but when you've got someone like LaKisha, Melinda, or Chris up there it makes his lack of singing skills quite obvious.

As for his family, they should be very proud.

I know I would be if that was my kid up there! I'm sure it hurts them (and him too, of course) that he gets bashed, but that's going to happen to anyone in the spotlight. It comes with the territory and there's plenty of mean folks out there who enjoy doing it just for the hell of it.

I'm with CheriLyn. I'm probably older than most of you and my maternal instinct kicks in whenever I see someone making fun of him. He seems to be such a good kid and he's trying. My heart goes out to his parents who I am sure is fully aware of the criticism of him as well as the jokes. He shouldn't win and isn't going to win...as they have all said, it's supposed to be a singing competition. However, the Powers that Be put him in that group. I just wish it wasn't in order to be the brunt of everyone's jokes.

Did y'all see that little girl weeping over Sanjaya? He's not that cute. But it was sweet. I think The Kinks are way out of his league, but he gave it a good try. He seems like a nice kid.
