She always strikes me as very family oriented and seems most relaxed when she's around kids, actually smiling, laughing, being silly and having fun. Maybe she should open a daycare.

This is total PR spin trying to make her seem like the devoted wife who had to choose between family and a hit show. In reality rumors have been for months that NBC has been totally unhappy with footage and decided to cancel the show before it aired and cut their losses.
As someone else said there's no way a network would cancel a show just because someone needed to be gone a week. They've been filming for months and must have hundreds of hours of footage already. Two weeks of reshoots wouldn't be essential.

It's funny! At first, people like celebs such as Jonny Depp, so somebody who keeps his childrean away from the spotlight; none sees them. And this is considered so good.
Later, the same posters complain about Posh coz she doesn't get photographed with her babies enough. And this is considered so bad.
Finally, those people are also the same posters who, when sometimes they see Britney with one of her kids (because she's one who alternates the thing pretty well), they say she needs them as an accessory for her own publicity.
So, I am asking, what is the balance?

Good question but I haven't got an answer. I actually do believe Posh is into her family--there's no indication otherwise. She may be many things but I don't think she's a bad mother.

Good God, half hour until the much expected match. I'm hoping that all cameras stay away from Posh. The only hard round thing I wanna see today is the soccer ball (which at least doesn't have pointy nipples).

I am sorry that I mentioned anything about her being photographed with her kids. The only point I was trying to make was that all we ever see her do is shop till she drops. No one buys the whole "I'm dropping the show for the sake of my family" excuse.

No, no, you're right!! I also think her main occupation is spending her tons of money!! I agree, she's the biggest shopaholic ever!!!
The only thing I added is that people aren't always black or white, that is why Posh is a shopping bitch but also a nice woman on the inside. She cares about her family and it is a real feeling.
And I was thinking about how weird gossip is: it goes far away from reality, people crave to comment but they're also deconnecting a bit with reality sometimes, just like celebs do!! Gossip fever...

I think sometimes the gossip gets pretty mean and spiteful. I can rag with the best of 'em but I do get a wee bit uncomfortable when I see people wishing death or similar on some random celeb because they sleep around or do drugs. It seems a bit extreme.

I agree.
Sometimes gossip is evil: nothing less. It has, as in the real wordl, an immense social value but this type of communication exchanges often seem not to be focused on logic, education, respect. This is really scary to me sometimes.
The gossiping thing could possibly lead people fanatic atitudes. I know it may sound weird, but I do believe in the power of communication. Sometimes you can kill with words and you can do even worse.

I really don't like Posh but ive just finished watching the England vs Brazil match which Beckham was playing in and Posh looked very happy to be there . Laughing, smiling (yes... she actually smiled!) and cheering on David with Brooklyn and Romeo . I don't know if Cruz was there.
And for anyone who cares Beckham's free -kick set up a goal for the new England captian John Terry but that was cancelled out by a last minute Brazilian goal from a guy i have never heard of. Oh well.......it looks like he is playing against Estonia on wednesday because he had a good match.

Yeah, a dignified retreat because she can hide behind "family values", "priorities" and "being sacked" rather than just bailing because she's realised that it's going to make her look even more stupid than she already does.

I don't think she looks tupid. I feel like stupid ones are Paris, Nicole, Britney (sometimes), Tara Reid, Kim Kash...(...something), Big Brother participants and stuff like that.
Posh may not benefit of the same respect Bill Gates has, but she's deffo not into the same group of those losers I've mentioned above.

I DO agree! I do not like how Posh (tries to) manipulate the media, her 'public' persona of 'there's nothing wrong with me, of course I eat'; and a few more things, but she used to be seen a lot with her kids, but now that one of them has been diagnosed with as epileptic, she tries not to do public things that will get them photographed I believe. Odd comments from other people (not on her payroll) suggest that she's a good mum & appears to get a lot of pleasure from it. So, I'm going with the she's a good/ok mum.
I still think that the show was pulled due to her not getting Katie & J-Lo to appear on it tho.....
