^^Actually, it's MSNBC, not CNN. And nobody is saying that it was a completely selfless act, and trying to make her a saint. But the woman got fed up, and did something about it, the other media outlets picked up on it and ran with the story. Hey, and if she got some added exposure from it, then good for her. Better her, than Paris.

It got our attention didn't it? It is like someone who is slipping into emotional shock, if you slap them, they will sometimes snap out of it. Slapping people is wrong, but at that moment, you have to.

The public was zoned out and that stunt was a slap. Go girl!

The fact of the matter is that it's the news directors that are being unprofessional because they've forgotten what real news is suppose to be. Now when Paris gets elected to Congress then that'll be worth leading with. But, then again, the hell freezing over story will probably get eclipsed by Paris too.
Once again, I agree w/you 100% Kingcap. It's frightening really...

I've never heard of this term for wadding something up, but that's what they meant. Not like "messed" up.

Brzezinski screwed the report up into a small ball - but the Paris broadcast went ahead anyway

Hey, great minds united in believing that Paris is a waste of space. Now, if we start completing each other's thoughts then that's when it gets scary.

I applaud what she did. I just hope she takes the same stand EVERYTIME a stupid celebrity story is the main news item. Ala next time Jolie and Pitt adopt another kid.

Good. In the first place, coverage of celebrity antics and ANY other celeb shit is what shows like ET and the like are for. Hell, after I found this board they could go ahead and get rid of the television Entertainment News/Gossip shows and news segments for all I care.

^^ I totally agree. If they must include celebrity stories in the news it would be more appropriate in the Sports section rather than News.

Exactly. Besides it is unprofessional to broadcasting news about a poor little rich who does not present anything useful to our society.

Mika is as cheap as her transparent stunt. You ever watched her? She fucking plays to the camera. It's so obnoxious.

If she'd have chosen to call bullshit and protest another story, then perhaps I'd be inclined to give her some respect.

But Paris Hilton? Please. It's the easiest story in the world to mock because every news reader in the country has already mocked it.

There was not one iota of bravery in what Mika did. It was blatant whoring for attention.
