Tom Hanks wants Charlize Theron to play Marilyn Monroe in his new movie

I think she would be a good choice also. Hanks may do a good job with it. I hope so, I'd like to see a movie about her that is done well.

I think marilyn is easily imitable. So many have done it well - looks wise i mean. Her look is very distinct due to white hair and the style, red lips etc. Not difficult to copy

^^ Acting ain't about copying someone's look, though. And Marilyn is an icon, there's nothing "easily imitable" about her.

Charlize is a damn fine actor. She'll do the part well because she commits to each role. And she'll be able to capture that esoteric "thing," that X factor that was and always will be Marilyn Monroe.

She's about half a foot too tall and about (considering her height) 20 to 30 pounds too light in weight. But at least she can act. Paris Hilton is a delusional, fugly idiot with no talent at anything but being a spoilt delusional filthy rich skank ho. She should be deported.

However, to attempt such a role is to invite disaster: regardless of the sheer brilliance of the performance, utter lack thereof, and everything in between, the actress will forever stand in the shadow of comparison. A gutsy, gutsy career move. Have to admire that.

It's not the money, the bottomless depths of her apparently boundless "Look-I'm-a-drunken-Calista-Flockhart-wannalookalikeabe" uberskankiness; It's all in the name. It is as if her parents knew her destiny from birth.

Then again, were this true they would have wrapped her up and left her on the doorsteps of the Sisters of Mercy.

And then they would have prayed--a lot--that no one figured out who she was.

One might be tempted to think they could have simply left her in a trashcan; however, the forces that govern the universe could not have endured such excruciating irony.

Thus, PH becomes just another shining example of how the filthy rich missed an opportunity to TRULY help humankind.
