My friend used to own a porn shop and most of the money she made was from the illegal videos. While normal people do go there, most normal people buy off the net. These shops do attact trash and if people don't like them near schools they should be free to protest, i would if it was near my house or school I wouldnt like it.

I meant they may go home and ask which store had all the brightly lit signs....thay may open up the lines of communication on the level the kid could understand...I am not saying I would relish the talk about porno with my child at say, age 7. But you can bet your ass that I would have that talk if I thought they were in any danger from it...I am of the opinion that you must teach and inform. That way your child is given somewhat of a headstart on some of the things that they will face. I don't lie to my children, never have. There may have been times that it was uncomfortable for us all, but it is the parents place to have these discussions and try to teach them right and wrong...not Stephen Baldwin or anyone else.

You would protest a porn shop near your house or school yet had a friend who owned one and made most of her money selling illegal porn? That is pretty fucked up IMO.

ummm. I'm a parent and there is NO porn in this house period. My husband has never had porn in the home either. My grandfather NEVER had porn in his home. Not everyone looks at porn. I know it is hard to believe in todays "modern" age.

there are some porn shops in downtown where I live and they have big windows with manequins dressed in full bondage gear, various "fantasy" outfits etc. very gross.

Not all porn shops have covered windows. Some have movie posters etc. right in the window.

That may be true, but everyone has the right to if he/she so chooses. And I think that if you choose to have it, you should be responsible for it....
And if you choose to work at/own an 'adult store' or patronize one, it is your business.
Like I said in an earlier post, Baldwin should go bitch to the people who can make a difference-the 'powers that be' in this city. It is those people who issued the permits for this business to open. Apparently there is no code which states that it violates any rules/regulations or I don't feel that it would have been issued the permits. I'm not saying Baldwin doesn't have the right to bitch about it, but bitch in the right direction....
