Frankly, I think spying on people and then publishing their license plate numbers for the purpose of blackmail and harrassment is sick, and those people need to be locked away.
I have no problems with protecting children, they grow up too fast as it is. But I will not condone the kind of bullying action these religious weirdos adopt.

It didn't sound like they are spying, they are out in the open making no bones about what they plan to do.
I say save space and lock away the truly deviant and sick in our society, start with the child molesters, child porn publishers and purchasers, etc.
If someone has no problem going to the porn shop having their license plate published isn't going to worry them. If it does then they need to consider if it is worth it to go there.

The act itself is malicious, and a form of blackmail. It should not be allowed.

Well, finding Daddy's or big brother's porn stash has just as much of a chance to turn them onto porn.
If this is elementary school it is close to, I would think the chances of these kids standing there saying "Hmmmm let me seriously consider the world of porn. I can't read yet, but I see these bright flashing lights....wonder what that means. Oh, I know, I will go home and ask my mother...then the mother can talk to little Jimmy about these things if she feels it is right.
Look, I in NO WAY condone a child being exposed to porn. But I also think that Mr. Baldwin is taking it a little far. Keep hounding the 'powers that be' to have it shut down or moved. Don't harass the people who want to go their. They have every right to GO THERE as he does to PROTEST. What's next? Standing outside of the beer/liqour store writing down license numbers? People who buy lottery tickets? Who is he to become the moral majority for us?

Well...we need to see a photo of the place first, most of the stores i've walked by are pretty inconspicious. I'm sure if it was vulgar, more people would've complained by now.

I've got to question the parenting skills of a father who keeps porn in the home in the first place. Irresponsible at best.
I think if there was a liquor store next to an elementary school, then yes go ahead and picket etc. that would be just as wrong as the porn shop.
Not all kids will go home and ask mom about porn unfortunately.
I think having the shop that close to a school send a wrong message and could pose a risk to kids.
I'm not saying outlaw it, I'm just saying move it somewhere more appropriate.
Pornographers should not have more rights than others.
If I was living in a nice neighborhood I wouldn't want a porn theater or shop, a liquor store, a gun store, etc anywhere near my home or the kid's school. It just isn't appropriate.

Oh come on, every parent has porn stashed away somewhere. If your kids find it, and they will because it's some kind of time-worn rite of passage, then you have to do the cliché thing and deal with the situation with education.
It's not irresponsible.

Actor Stephen Baldwin Is My Shepherd, Or What Would McManus Do?
Stephen Baldwin responds to the question What Would Jesus Do? with the obvious answer -- photograph sodomites' license plates and run the pictures in the local newspaper: Actor Stephen Baldwin has his shorts in a bunch over a sex shop opening near his estate in Rockland County -- so much so, he plans to destroy the lives of its patrons. The least-known of the Baldwins, Stephen, a born-again Christian, parked himself outside the store's Route 59 location in Nyack on Friday and took snapshots of construction workers walking in and out of the building.
Once the smut shop opens in a few months, the 39-year-old star of "The Usual Suspects" plans to photograph patrons' license plates and run their names in the local newspaper to shame them from ever returning.
. . .
In addition to selling sex toys and porn, the shop will also feature video booths where patrons can watch hardcore flicks in total privacy.
"These guys want to do this business, God bless 'em. That's between them and God. They'll have to deal with that for eternity. But the people of Nyack do not want this location where it is," Baldwin said.
Thank goodness -- sorry, thank God -- Stephen Baldwin is there to right Nyack's moral compass, protecting them like a shepherd guarding his flock: At the Jiffy Lube across the street, workers weren't impressed by the anti-porn campaign. "Honestly, they should put a strip club there. We wouldn't mind," oil-changer Kevin Lair, 28, told The Post.
"I don't even know why they want to put an adult book store here. There's already a good one up the road."

Ooooh! Pictures of the construction workers!

I think we all have equal rights. It's not that 'pornographers' have more rights-it is that we all have rights-the same rights.
If this town wants it gone, they should go to the appropriate people and complain. I assure you, they had to get many permits in order to even begin construction or renovation. The higher ups in this town know exactly what it is and obviously they don't have a problem with it....

Knowing the Baldwin Brothers' somewhat wild behaviour in the past, he's probably worried one of the customers will buy one of his early "movies".
Grimm is right. Children are not allowed in porn shops as far as I know and most of them have fairly discreet shopfronts anyway. Having said that there's a couple of sex 'supermarkets' near here, one called SexyLand and the other called Adults Only which are located on major highways with the most amazing selection of bondage outfits, tickle sticks and inflatable friends in the window. We've driven past so often my kids stopped being interested years ago.
And if you seriously think that only perverts and weirdos buy porn you are sadly out of touch. You'd be amazed how many 'respectable' people, men AND women, are regular customers at porn shops. If I was Mr Baldwin I'd be far more concerned about the SERIOUSLY sick stuff that's available on the Internet.

Am I missing something? Every adult video store I've ever seen in Canada has had a simple sign reading "Adult Video" with covered up windows. They put cardboard or something in front of them so nobody can inadvertently see inside. I've never accidentally caught a glimpse of T & A while walking by a porn video store.

Why does there have to be someplace else for the porn store? The owners/proprieters/customers have those constitutional rights as well. Maybe the customers should just walk in and out wearing masks of Stephen Baldwin and shirts that say 'Stephen Baldwin is an asshat' By your arguments KKK memebers have rights too and why should they have to live near a black family moving in? why should they have their white children walking past a black residence or black owned business. Generally if people don't like something they can vote with their feet and move. those rights you talk about are for every citizen..even the very unpopular ones.
