Nothing to think about. PETA=People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, so I wouldn't expect them to be building houses...unless they were animal shelters.

I don't understand you guys' posts. It seems that the outrage is over the person making this idiotic statement...and not the statement itself.

I HATE missionaries, HATE. Just because people in other parts of the world are born poor does NOT mean that anyone is allowed to force their beliefs onto them. I'm happy for any Christian who feels that he/she has been "saved" by accepting Jesus into one's life or whatever. Please do others the same courtesy and respect their beliefs (or lack thereof).

Anyone who preaches that it is a moral obligation to bring "faith" to the poor of the world needs to get over themselves. Being born in the US or any of the rest of the privileged western world does NOT give one the right to convert anyone else. If you feel the humanitarian obligation to try and help people, please donate $$ to the many charities that work toward this cause. If you are even more motivated, go over to some of these poor countries and bring food and health supplies. And that is all...do not presume to think that your system of belief is better in any way!
