I'm not sure I'd protest (after all, I already live in the "red light" street of my town so...), but you're right about porn being degrading to women. I don't think I ever watched more than 10 minutes of a porn movie, because it's:
-degrading to women
-usually boring (I much prefer having sex myself, thank you)
-I have loads of better things to do/watch

I have no problem with porn or porn shops... they can be a lot of fun. Lots of women like porn... it's not just for dirty old men anymore.

Demeaning to women? What about all the gay porn, dominatrix porn, etc?

I wouldn't want a sex shop near my house, though... it lowers the property values.

Again, this is just my personal opinion, not a judgement on those that enjoy it. I don't just find it degrading to women, but all around dehumanizing. I consider sex something very intimate and special, not something to be shared w/ random people and filmed for the whole world to see. Besides that, I just think it's gross. I mean porn, not sex.

^^ ITA. I really have an issue with sex as a business. It makes me sick to my stomach, it's not like I can control it.
And I resent it when expressing a very personal feeling about that makes others call me narrow minded. To each their own, don't force your what YOU like down MY throat (no pun intended )

The story with this big hypocrite is that years ago he was once a whoremonger and porn fiend himself. He got his cheating ass busted out by his wife and pulled out all the stops to prove to her how much he's a changed man and now he's this big time anti-porn christian activist.
