I have to say I have thought about praying for him too, I am somewhat worried that easily influenced people would turn to this CULT because Tom did. Plus I think steven is pretty funny. and why can't someone who had a history of being bad turn good??? I have been in church my whole life and i could not name all the sins until that movie Seven came out. We never even studied that in church.

Ditto. Sorry in advance to the offended, but It's all subjective BS mind-control (and often for the weak) to me.
And Steven Baldwin might have been a smidge amusing when he was (what he and some people would now refer to as) 'dirty' but he is not funny at all now because he is disgustingly, transparently phony.

I think the seven deadly sins are more a Catholic thing - they just love a bit of guilt.

So she laid down the law and gave him an ultimatum. This is also why he makes such a show of his 'turnaround'. His career was in the shitter anyway, so public evangelism and prostelysizing wasn't going to hurt. If anything, it'd be a novelty to bring him attention, as usually when celebs are seeking attention they strive to downplay stuff like that in attempt to be more palatable to the masses.

I don't know. I still think he has had a real conversion to Christianity. If he was claiming to be a christian and knowingly still cheating on his wife etc., then I'd say he was a huge jerk etc. But I really think he is trying to turn his life around for the better. And if he can show others how NOT to live life (his pre-conversion days) maybe it will help somebody out there.

And maybe ThetinTomThumb doesn't want to go to heaven (I hear there might be virgins there, which would scare the daylights out of him), maybe he wants Scotty to beam him up. Stop prostelysizing, Delphimium.

sounds to me like you've got "issues". I'm not trying to convert anyone here, merely stating what a "typical" evangelical believes. Which happens to be what I believe. Do I believe Tom Cruise will go to hell when he dies if he continues to worship thetan aliens? (or whatever he worships) yes I do.
I haven't said anyone here is going to hell, or tried to get anyone here "saved" (although of course I would want anyone and everyone to be).
So maybe you are a tad too touchy on this subject. Amazing how it is okay to try and bash on Stephen Baldwin because he didn't pass some snarky interviewers "christianity test" but when somebody clarifies it's prostelyzing. give me a break.

I would love to know where they originally came from, and how they got classified as deadly.

I just find it ironic that Stephen and Alec have such opposing political views.

Oh we are only doing it because of the two crazies involved. Crazy Stephen Baldwin and even crazier Thetan Tom. If it were involving two people who were even slightly sane we would not give a hoot.

If I really cared what you said, I'd be offended, but since I don't, I'll just say this: you can call my faith whatever you want, and belittle it all you want, and you can sterotype everyone like me so that you feel better about yourself & oh so superior, but I know that I am most certainly not weak. The people who know me would laugh at the notion. The strongest people I know are people of faith.
I've attended church etc. very, very little, so sorry, I haven't had the opportunity to be subjected to a bunch of mind control. Whatever that is. I've had my IQ measured, thankyewverylittle, and I'll match it against anybody on this board, so I'm not some weak little person who needs to be told what to do. I sought out my faith, and I thank God I found it.
Something I've noticed here, that I'll just throw out, because I've had a crappy day & it's late. Here's the pattern on GR. You can't express negative thoughts about race, sexual orientation, nationality (unless American sometimes) or gender, but there is open season on Christianity at all times. If some of us pipe up & try to defend ourselves, then the thread quickly starts belittling "fundamental" christians, because it's OK to hoot on them. They con old folks out of money, and they have big ridiculous hair, so of COURSE it's ok to hoot on them.
Guess what, folks? The silent majority of us are NOT fundamental Christians, but when you ridicule Christianity, you ridicule US. If you put a gun to my head and told me to recite the 7 deadly sins, you'd end up shooting me, but it doesn't make me any less Christian.
I don't give a rat's ass about Stephen Baldwin, and even less about Tom Cruise. I've just been wanting to say this for a long time.

Thing is Lobe, people are hypocrites. Mocking Christians is OK because there's no implied 'racism' in that. If people said the same things about Muslims or Jews there's be howls of protest at people's bigotry and prejudice. Maybe the Presbyterian Liberation Front should start a suicide bombing campaign to get their religious point of view across and then people might take them more seriously. Maybe the problem arises from Christianity's fundamental princples of tolerance, forgiveness and love - people think they can take pot shots and get away with it.
As usual, it's the crazy fundamentalists (of ALL religions) who give their whole belief system/faith a bad name.

It does seem to me that people who identify themselves as agnostic or athiest often believe they are more educated and intelligent than believers of any faith. In My Opinion, people who say MY WAY IS THE WAY AND THE ONLY WAY AND THERE IS NO MARGIN FOR ERROR and those that say RELIGION IS FOR THE WEAK AND IGNORANT are one and the same. They are *both* brands of narrow minded ASSHOLES. And sorry in advance to the offended.
