She has had nose jobs. Plus, if you make lots of money off your appearance, people are going to judge it with extraordinarily high standards.

How do you know? Do you know her surgeon?
Being an actress does not mean that it is okay for people to make cruel remarks about your appearance and buy into the objectification of women in the media. When are men torn apart to this degree? Please, it makes me sick.

I've seen pictures. She's very obviously had at least one nose job, probably more. And if you hate harsh remarks about celebrities this much, you are probably on the wrong board. Sorry, jmo.

Maybe you're right. But to clarify - I don;t hate harsh remakrs about celebrities (I have had some choice words about Angelina, Brad, Tom Cruise myself) but I hate when people - esp. women - tear apart other women's looks. It's the feminist in me.

Men get torn apart on here all the time!
People are usually ok with the tearing apart of people they don't like, but when it's someone they do, then it becomes a social issue, or everyone's a meanie, or just jealous, or whatever.
I like SJP too, but she's fair game just like everyone else.

I think this board is a perfect illustration that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. I'll think someone is gorgeous, & someone will come along & think they're fugly. I like SJP, too, because she's different. However, I think her personality goes a long way in making her attractive. There's something appealing about her.
I used to think Catherine Zeta-Jones was the most beautiful woman in the world, until more of her seemingly disagreeable personality became apparent.

You're right, Lobelia. ANd there is nothing wrong with saying that you do not find someone attractive. It is just when people are really cruel (ie comparing women to horses or calling them fat) that really bothers me. It is just so malicious - you can express yourself just fine without the viciousness.
