Because you prefaced it with the comment "Now there is a real man. Looks and sounds like a wuss."

Oh I get it. You're one of those who takes issue with the method of making the point rather than concentrating on the point. Usually it's to distract yourself and as many people as possible from actually getting the point.
Instead of just agreeing to disagree.
I never called you a homophobe. But methinks you protest too much. You could have let it lie and no one would have become even more convinced.

Mira, let's do like you mentioned and agree to disagree. No hard feelings and how about a cyber handshake to you, do you accept?

He was banned for two weeks for infractions about not posting or quoting properly, but he's back. Except Lobelia's not here to play with him so he's lost interest (hopefully)

I miss the old Rosie. The one I got a kick out of on her own show. She has become someone entirely different and unwelcome to me. Unless the real Rosie was hiding back then.

I think it is way too easy for people to call Rosie "fat" or reference her homosexuality when criticizing her. I never really think it reflects on her but is more indicative of the person who is saying those things about her. Personally, I think she gets a bum rap. If she were male, she would be called strong or opinionated. If she were hot, her opinions would not be so callously dismissed. I think because she is so easy to pick on, you know like when you were 12 in middle school and that was the most coherent criticism you could come up with, she gets an onslought of inane criticism.
I have actually enjoyed her on The View. She is angry at the Bush adminstration like many Americans are but she has a platform to make people think and bring issues to their attention, issues that the mainstream media either glosses over or ignores. I think she is frustrated like so many of us and does come across as angry and strong. So what?
I think 9/11 changed her and made her more politically aware. That is the change so many fans see in her. I, for one, will miss her "voice" in the media.

That is a good post Raven. I do agree with others here that this is the real Rosie. She's had a lot happen to her (and the country has) since her own show. Ed Schultz just said on his radio show that it's WaWa wno needs to go, not Rosie. WaWa doesn't connect with the demographic who watches that show.
I agree. To me she's just the Devil Wears Prada behind The View. Gestapo WaWa.

do you really think leaving the show will shut her up? it won't. I think if she wanted a platform, she would have it. there is speculation that the view offered her 3 mil per year - she wanted 10 mil. in the end, she doesn't want to speak out against anything unless someone is paying her for it - and paying her well.

I quit watching The View several years ago because they were annoying. I came back when Ro joined. I have still found the show really stilted when Barbara is on. She stifles what they say to some extent. I also find Elisabeth highly annoying. I don't object to a Republican or conservative view- in fact, I think one is really needed. But she just does not present herself as being very intelligent.
Mel--No, I think she will still be around. Her blog will remain BUT I don't think she will get the audience that she had on The View unless she does another talk show herself. She won't be as visible, anyway, if all she does is the blog. And according to most reports she left because they wanted her for 3 years and she didn't want to sign that long-term of a contract. A one year contract is pretty rare in showbiz but she had it for this year. She wanted a year-to-year basis and ABC would not go for that.
