Yep. I think the photos were on dlisted.com earlier this week. There were tons of paps around and she squatted outside of a car door and peed while they all took her photo. I think www.pinkisthenewblog.com had them too.

I don't think the idea is to take rap completely off the airwaves, or that by doing so it is going to "solve the problems". But certain rap lyrics do promote the "weed, money, bitches and murder" lifestyle so it most certainly can be argued that even though not the crux of the problem, rap can and is often a very big contributing factor. And no, not all rap is bad, but I think people can realize that the issue is with the rap that is problematic, and not with the rap that isn't.

No, the music is just representative of a lifestyle already there.. but as a result, it's also a form of promotion for that lifestyle. It's a feeding cycle.

Dead Prez does produce better and certainly more intelligent music/lyrics than most rap groups, but I've also heard Dead Prez songs that use the word "cracker" and are full of angry "white man" bashing. While the songs have a valid point, the excessive hostility is a little off-putting. It doesn't promote the lifestyle that rap usually is associated with, but anything that perpetuates anger and hate is not exactly positive music in my book.

Believe me honey, it may not be because of this issue, but if it were up to some people, I'd be on my way to the looney bin any day now But they call me crazy as if it's a bad thing....

You are right, and perhaps I should have chosen better phrasing. I think "socially conscious" would be better terminology for most of their songs. I'm just glad to see someone actually thinking about these social issues and incorporating them into the music, even if I don't necessarily agree with the entire conclusion.

When Marilyn Manson and Dee Snider talked about this same topic, only defending their own music, I was amazed by how smart they were. When Pink tries defending music she sounds just as dumb as usual, which is disappointing, because this should be something that someone who makes music for a living should be informed enough about to be at least a little persuasive.

I'm sometimes offended by rap music I hear on the radio, but I can't say that the music that I listen to couldn't be considered offensive, so I wouldn't want to single out a music genre that I'm not fond of when I listen to things that could be considered just as bad.

Lots of girls have peed in public when you really have to go and no where close, the only problem for her is that shes famous and got caught.. its not like she pulled over at some random place and peed, she was at the beach as you could see... people are too uptight.
