pah, he just can't commit, he's using that as his excuse. that's like saying, when I can fly unaided to the moon, I'll marry you. If they ever get hitched I will make a giant chocolate hat and proceed to eat it.

Yeah he was, but that is the difference between Nick Cave and a lot of other drug-addicted artists in comparison to Doherty, you can be a deranged junkie but it actually "contributes" to your art (I'm really hesitant to say this, I'm not making excuses for heroin use but still, without drugs a lot of great art probably wouldn't have been created, at least not in the same way) and still have some class. Or maybe I'm just very biased
