I agree with moomies - i think if you give credit and don't mess with the photo, you're fine.

I also think they are just targeting Perez...no one gets the traffic he gets.

Well yeah, but I don't think the board would be as interesting without a photo section...just think about it and stop letting your hate of Perez Hilton cloud your judgement. We're technically not supposed to copy and paste articles from other sites either...

I think a lot of people (ie magazines, etc) are pissed because he's one person who runs essentially a site that gets more traffic than the sites of the actual magazines, and he does it at no overhead and probably makes more money than the chief editor...and I doubt Perez went to college or even has any training in writing (as you can tell lol)

SVZ, i would absolutely HATE it if GossipRocks had to close down; that would be awful.

Not that i'm assuming you're responding to my post, but i just wanted to clarify that i would not support anything that would mean GossipRocks had to close down or change for the worse. And you did bring up a thought-provoking topic--one i wasn't aware of. So anyway, in my post about Perez, i wasn't putting down the technical way/method he operates his website (i.e. featuring photos of celebrities on his site); i was just ranting about my personal feelings towards the guy. (or rather, my feelings towards Perez's PUBLIC PERSONA--since i certainly don't personally know the guy!)

Perez just irks me because of the way he kisses ass; his opinions toward people change dramatically (from loathing people, to suddenly loving them, & vice versa) with the direction of the wind. (or, more aptly, according to who his "pal" Parisite Hilton happens to like or dislike that particular day.)

And i think he is rather mean-spirited & smug. I personally don't like the way he has "outed" various gay celebrities, because HE thought they should be "outed". (Just my own opinion.)...My gay sister & i briefly talked about that, and she thinks what he's doing is way beyond inappropriate....She talked about what a deeply PERSONAL decision it is, when a person decides when & how to go about "coming out of the closet".--Thinking about this made me dislike Perez, or Perez's tactics, even more.

And to top it off, i can't stand the way he seems to think HE HIMSELF is actually a bona-fide celebrity. The pictures of him "shmoozing" with celebrities & trying to ingratiate himself into their life, is cringe-inducing. And I was watching a True Hollywood Story, or an A&E Biography, TV show the other day....when guess who's ugly mug was suddenly filling my television screen, babbling away in his snarky-fashion about a celebrity he obviously didn't even personally know. He just rubs me the wrong way.

But in no way do i want this court action to negatively impact the awesome GossipRocks!!! So if that means Perez getting off scot-free with regards to this lawsuit, in order to keep GossipRocks being able to run things the way it always has, then certainly in that case, i hope Perez achieves victory in court.

If we had to close the photo section here, I'd still be hanging around. I only check out the photos once in a while ... the main reason I come everyday is to talk to everybody and goof on the celebs. I love it here!!

He's not getting sued quite yet. I read the full legal documents on Splash News Online and they basically outline what he has to do to avoid a lawsuit. I don't know where TMZ got this number, but there's no official lawsuit and he's only received a sterner cease and desist.

I can't for the life of me figure out why Perez has to hang out in an internet cafe all day...with all that ad revenue, you would think he has enough $ by now to buy a damn laptop.

Perez is a loser. I hope they close him down.

I heard that he brags about his lack of connection to technology or something. I read that he doesn't even own a tv, which seems weird to me since all he deals with is media and celebrity gossip....you'd think he'd at least own one to watch HIMSELF on tv!

I barely even go in photo threads anymore, anyway, unless it's something that specifically interests me.

I think a lot of people would stay at GR even if we have to lose the pics.

I think Perez does a big no-no when he defaces the pictures with his ugly childish looking text all over them. We dont do anything to the ones we have, and we always give credit to the source.

Yeah, what aabbcc said - I hardly ever go to the photo threads. I think most of us would still be here with or without photos...

I thought the lawsuit was becuase Perez was using photos w/o giving credit? Everyone else give's credit.... ?

I don't care for him either and for as much $$ as he is making, you'd think he could afford the internet at his house instead of always blogging for a coffee shop.. dumb ass
