I don't think she's self-serving or egomaniacal. She just thinks she knows what's best for everybody, or how to solve everybody's problems.
|
Not to get into another definition discussion, but isn't that what an egomaniac is?

But, yeah, it is a bit much, ain't it? A tv show, a magazine, a radio show. But I guess that's the trend these days. It's like, people won't respect you unless you're a mogul or something.

I dunno... You may very well be right. But, then again, I also think I know what's best for everybody. I guess I'm an egomaniac too?

Okay - admittedly you do have a point there.

Hey, I'm a voyeur, so if it's entertaining, I'd totally tune in to you and your friend, too! I have a friend back home, and I swear, so many times we said "We really need to be filming ourselves when we get together." The whole world would tune in, but I'd probably end up with many, many enemies and about a hundred fire bombs, so maybe it's a good thing we never taped any of our conversations.
|
I say go for it! I'd tune in. I do find you quite amusing!

No, no, no! You've got it all wrong! I've witnessed her say she's naive about something numerous times. She's all about self-discovery, self-love (heh heh), healing folk, philanthropy, yadda yadda yadda.
|
I've never heard admit to being naive about anything. Don't you know she's figured it all out? That's why she has a talk show. So that she can bestow her wisdom upon us little people.

I wish I could cite specific examples, but at least twice this year (I don't watch the show unless I'm interested in the topic and/or am home at 4pm EST) she has said "I never heard this..." or "I never knew..." or something.
I know I sound like a real dumbass, but it's true! And one time, I was like, "Ok, Oprah, where the fuck have you been? You're just finding out about this now?" I think it was something about drugs or something. I dunno...
^^ God, what a dumbass post.

Oy...no picking on martha or it'll a copper pot upside the head for you! Martha may have her issues (boy, does she have issues) but she's never promised to solve all our problems. She simply shows us how to whip up a mean Baked Alaska. Granted, she's a nutjob but for some reason she just cracks me up with her craziness.

I think Oprah needs some humility pills . . .
That "on the road with Gail and Oprah" . . . Kind of pointless?
I hope she's done with all the weight loss advice; easy to give it out, not so easy to follow eh?

When they can see her on TV? FUCK NO
Also, my guess is that her radio programming will be mostly just other bullshit (i.e. friends of Oprah and their snoozefests) with her name on it. It's not like Oprah is actually going to be in the studio every day doing a live show like Howard Stern does. What you'll be hearing is Gayle King and some interior designer dude trying to to do a show about home decorating on the radio where you can't SEE anything. It'll just mean more money/power for OprahHarpo if anything.
I'm actually excited about it because I'll probably get to hear them goofing on it and playing moronic snippets of it on Stern for laughs.

Pppft. Oprah's got plenty of humility. Or are you not aware that she's shown her makeupless mug on national tv numerous times? AND she was in a bathrobe, with puffy eyes and a WIIIIIIIIIIDE negroid nose. She looked a mess.
Mariah Carey is an egomaniac. Not Oprah. She simply has a saviour complex. Not that that's a good thing...

Wicked will you pm me the meaning too? I'm dying to know now.
Oprah? Gag. Can't stand her. I was very early on the Oprah-the-ego train. Now I just find her funny. She doesn't realize that most of us don't find her quite as special as she finds herself. That's kinda sad too.
