Yes, that what I think. If she was really close to them, I bet she would live in L.A. I'm not saying she's a bad mother. But Scientology encourages it's members to cut off ties with those relatives who aren't part of the cult. Maybe that's created problems in her relationship with them.

Perhaps when they're older they can get free of the cult and have a different relationship with her.
