I'm so not surprised that he didn't specify in his apology that he made anti-semitic remarks...because there's no real way to apologize for that. "Sorry that I'm an anti-semitic a**hole, everyone..." And I really don't buy the whole saying things you don't mean when you're drunk excuse for this one. It would be different if Mel knew from the beginning that this police officer was actually jewish (which I don't even think he was)...not that that would make it better in ANY way, but the point is nothing should have even triggered the thought of jews. It was just a random, hateful rant coming from a place that I'm pretty sure exists in him even when he's sober. He's a sexist, anti-semitic homophobe, and I think this may be God's way of telling him to SHUT THE HELL UP

Mel seems to have forgotten that the message of the Gospel is Love. So many fundamentalist forget that. Oh yeah, and St Paul specifically warns against anti semetism in one of his epistles. I'm a Christian, but I can't find it in myself to defend him.

I heard that as well. Apparently the cop is saying that he wasn't out to destroy anyone when he wrote the police report. Let's see if I can find it.
